Ethel Minerva Porter Bernhardt, born Dec 10, 1910 (orphaned, maybe PA), adopted by Nellie & Charles Porter in St. Louis, MO. 

Died February 23, 1962 and buried in BelleFountain Cemetery, St Louis, MO.

David Byron Monroe, born to Luther and Lucy Burton Monroe Dec 21, 1903 in Exline, IA, first cousin of Vaughn Monroe the famous singer and actor, brother of Kendall Monroe. 

Died July 1965 and buried at the Jefferson Army Barracks, St. Louis, MO. 

Ethel and David had one baby, Claudia Marie born Jan 21, 1953.  (They became the grandparents of three boys, Mike, Brian and Sean Haslett and great grandparents of Alexis Katherine Anne Haslett – daughter of Michael and Stacy Haslett.) 

According to Claudia, her mother's favorite color was blue, she loved Shalamar Perfume and was a sweet and loving mother.  She died of cancer when Claudia was 10. 

David had a big cat named Tom and whenever he spoke about "Tom" his eyes would light up.  He also fought in WWII and drove a blue car. 

They both liked to watch the Perry Como show on Saturday night together.
