The success of our site has been due to the thousands of photos submitted to
us by family members and researchers. These photos list only the
contributor's name and email address, and occasionally, if requested by the
submitter, the city/town of residence (for example, John Smith, Springfield,
MO). It is our feeling that personal information, such as your
mailing address or telephone number, is private and confidential.
We do not give out your email address to third parties for mailing lists,
spamming, etc. Our server is not set up to track, collect or
distribute personal information about its visitors. It does recognize the home
server of visitors, but not email addresses. It registers the browser our
visitors use, but not the names, addresses or other information about our
visitors that would allow us to identify specific visitors to our site.
Also, familyoldphotos.com tracks information about the visits to it: which
photos are being viewed the most often, which county sections are most popular,
and the total number of photos viewed, much the same way a "hit
counter" would keep track of visitors to a site. These combined
statistics are used to better provide services to the viewer and may also be
provided to others, but again, the statistics contain no personal information.
Additionally, we use the services of outside vendors for the
generating of banners, promotions and other marketing messages. In doing
this, these vendors collect anonymous data typically through the use of cookies.
Again this data, contains no personal information, on the date and time, number
of pages viewed, and other statistical, non-personal information. |
