Margaret Jane Wollam obit sent by Shirley Mason
Margaret Jane Wollam, daughter of Peter and Mary Cauffman, was born in Salem,
Juniata county, Pennsylvania, July 29, 1841, and died at her home in Berrien
Springs, March 12, 1926, age 84 years 7 months and 13 days. On Oct. 14, 1860,
she was united in marriage to James C. Wollam and two this union was born seven
children. Four of the children, together with the husband, have preceded her to
the Great Beyond, the youngest child, Mrs. Warren P. Mason, having passed away
just six weeks ago. The remaining children are Jess and Frank of this place, and
Melvin of Homestead, Fla. Mrs Wollam also leaves on sister, Mrs. Etta Markley,
of Buchanan, and one brother, Will Cauffman, of Dowagiac, who is spending the
winter in California. She also leaves 11 grandchildren, besides a host of other
relatives and friends. Mrs. Wollam united with the Methodist Church of this
place by letter Jan. 9. 1866, and at the time of her death was the oldest both
in membership and age.

She was a charter member of the Ladies of the G. A. R. circle and also held a
life membership card of the Olive Rebekah lodge. Elkhart County, Indiana
