Me, somewhere near Cloquet Minnesota

Me, somewhere near Cloquet Minnesota

My grandparents, Dad's side (Neva name) owned a lot on a small lake close to Cloquet Minnesota and we would go there infrequently to swim and bask in the sun,

That is Lake Erie in the back ground and we would often go there for Sunday drives, about the only time I saw my dad would be on the weekends as he was always on the road as a sales representative and he would often take my mother and me on those trips and I loved staying in hotels and eating in restaurants. We did a lot of traveling when I was young.

We used to drive from Cleveland to Janesville, Wisconsin every year where my cousin lived with his parents on a 40 acre farm and every year I would get to spend some precious time on that farm and I love going there.

Way before my time. I vaguely remember him and was about 3 or 4 when he passed away.

Gibby was the wild child of the family Jeanette, he rode a Harley Davidson as many of the returning GI's did and this was the foundation of the Hell's Angles which provided an outlet for pent up energy gained in the fierce fighting in WW II. Gibby was also my favorite uncle and as soon as I can find them I will post his motorcycle pictures, they are precious to me.

All the boys in the Jeanette family returned from WW II safe and sound. Thank God, I had the pleasure of having them all for really great uncles and cousins that followed.
