Sons of Samuel OilerSubmitted by Madge McClain Staley, great great granddaughter of Jacob and Lucinda Jane Polley Oiler Seven sons of Samuel Oiler and his two wives. The third man from the left, standing behind the others, is Jacob Oiler. The names of the rest of the brothers are unknown. Jacob Oiler was born July 2, 1833 in Gallia Co., Ohio and he died Nov 9, 1911 in Vinton, Gallia Co., Ohio. He was a son of Samuel (Oyler) Oiler and Elizabeth Bass Cavinder. He married Lucinda Jane Polley on Mar 26, 1853. She was the daughter of Daniel and Mary Louise Holcomb Polley. Lucinda was born Mar 24, 1835 in Ohio and she died Nov 1, 1916 in Columbus, Ohio.
