Bessie Brown Hepler Shreffler, born
in 1899 in southern Clarion Co., died 1986 in Brookville Hospital, Jefferson Co. She was one of eleven children born to
William Scott Brown and Adaline Hillard Brown. Both of her parents
died before she was ten years old. She was adopted by William
and Louisa Hepler of South Bethlehem, PA, when she was ten years old.
She married Grant Shreffler and moved to Akron, Ohio until her
husband's death. She then spent her remaining years with her only child, her
daughter Rhea and her husband David
Huffman, in Fairmount City, PA.
