Calvin Shiry

Calvin Shiry, was born 2 Jun 1870, in Redbank
Twp., Armstrong Co., PA, son of Simon Jonas Shiry and
Roseanna Haas. Calvin suffered from sugar diabetes and died at a
very young age on 17 May 1899, at his home. He worked in lumbering, and also was
quite active in Church work. He'd never married, but it is believed
he had been engaged to marry but died before the event happened. His
marker is engraved, "Servent of God well done, Rest from thy loved employ,
The battle fought the victory won, Enter Thy master joy!" It's on the
side of his folks gravestone.
