great great great granddaughter of Scott and Catherine MacDonald
Catherine Bonert/Bonnert MacDonald, wife of Scott A. MacDonald.
She was a Roman Catholic born somewhere in New York abt 1844, though she lived in western PA where she had her daughter,
Maud/Maude, also pictured.
According to the 1891 Carleton County, New Brunswick, Canada census, both of her parents were from Germany. She
died 1926 in New Brunswick, Canada and her obituary states that she had family ‘out west’ but doesn’t list any names or locations.
Possibly she might be the daughter of Francis and Barbara Bonnert
who were originally from Germany but migrated to NY and then moved to Elk County, PA –
Francis and Barbara were Roman Catholics and had a daughter named
Catherine born about the same time in NY.
