Elizabeth Jane Sharp the daughter of Zachariah
and Elizabeth Yoders Sharp, who was the son of Old
Isaac and Mary Wolverton / Woolverton Sharp.
She married James Alexander Bebout in Washington
County, PA. They had 2 children, Trolis and Sarah.
James Bebout was killed at the battle of Gettysburg
in the Civil War. Elizabeth never remarried. Her
obituary states that she eventually died of a broken heart. James'
body was never recovered from the battle and she forever thought he would
return.
The description given in Elizabeth's obit, she
was "small, dark eyed, dark haired with quiet sophistication." Her
memorial was written by her brother Manean Sharp.
