Emigh Family

Submitted by Annette Gray Brown, great granddaughter of Abraham Emigh

Abraham Emigh and his living brothers and sisters, taken about 1900 in Starke Co., IN. They were the children of Christian Emigh, born 1812 and Mary Paul, also born in 1812 in Cambria Co., PA 

Left to right, Jacob Emigh (born 1833 and died 1920, married Lavina Orris), Eliza (born 1842 died 1929, married 1. Amos Horner 2. Orrin Humphrey), Abraham (born 1835, died 1910, married Margaret Harr), Elizabeth (born 1846, died 1907, married John Terry), John Clark (born 1848, died 1948 at age 100 in Kansas, married Delphine Stephenson), Mary Catherine (born 1850, died 1906, married Charles Laramore), William Henry (born 1859, died 1945, married Mary Sophia Reish) and Izora (born 1855, died 1923, married Jesse Jackson). 

Christian Emigh, born 1832, married Catherine Harr, Margaret Harr Emigh's sister, wasn't present for the photograph.   They were from Lancaster Co.

The rest of the family had died prior to the taking of the photograph: Eleanor (born 1838, married Abner Hay, died in 18760, Alfred (born 1840 and died 1853), Margaret Jane ( born 1844, married Orrin Humphrey, died in 1874. After her death, Orrin Humphrey married Margaret Jane's sister, Eliza) and Barbara Ann (born 1832, married Warren Sylvanus Terry, died in 1895). 

All of the Emighs listed above were born in Cambria Co. They went to Indiana after Abraham Emigh was discharged from the Civil War.
