Florence Horner JohnstoneFlorence Horner was from Oil City, PA. She graduated from Clarion State Normal School (later called Clarion State Teachers College) in 1923. She later married G. A. Johnstone and lived on Pin Oak Drive in Oil City. While at Clarion State, Florence was on the varsity basketball team, the yearbook staff, the YWCA cabinet and was Vice-President of the Franklin Literary Society. The Sequelle, 1923, Clarion State Normal School Yearbook states this about Florence: "Horner's" ability places her among the first members of the class. She is industrious, capable, and dependable. That's not all - - "Horner" is a "peach". She laughs easily and falls in and out of love again with equal grace and ease.
