George Washington Rice was born 23 Jul 1837 in
Coryville, McKean County, PA, the son of William Rice and
Betsy E. Reed. He died 9 Jun 1922 in Coryville, and is buried in
Fairmount/ Fairview Cemetery, Farmers Valley, McKean County, PA.
He married Lucy Palmyra Crandall, the daughter
of Joseph Pendelton Crandall and Susan Pendelton
Main/Maine. She was born 2 Jun 1836 in Portville, Cattaraugus,
NY. Lucy was a widow with two small children, Idella
Barrett (1856-1935) and Georgie A. Barrett (1861-1866);
her first husband, George W. Barrett, had died of
cholera in 1860. Lucy died 22 Apr 1924 in Coryville, McKean County,
PA. She is also buried in Fairmount/Fairview Cemetery.
George W. and Lucy Palmyra Crandall Rice became
the parents of:
- Lena Marie Rice, born 27 Apr 1871 in Coryville,
McKean Co., PA. She married August Andrew Smith on
29 Mar 1893. Lena died 18 Jun 1944 and is also buried in
Fairmount/Fairview Cemetery.
- Lina Marie Rice, born 24 Jun 1872 in
Coryville, McKean Co., PA. She married Orlo J.
Randall. Lina died 21 Jan 1948 in Olean, NY and is buried in
Fairmount/Fairview Cemetery.
- Russell Albertus "Bert" Rice, born
19 Aug 1874 in Coryville, McKean Co., PA. He married Gertrude
Ione Wandover on 23 Dec 1900 in Ceres. Bert died 28 Nov 1950 in
Gowanda, Cattaraugus Co., NY, and is buried in Main Settlement Cemetery,
Portville, NY.
- Duane Charles Rice, born 11 Mar 1876 in
Coryville, McKean County, PA. He married Bessie
Lenora Ferman on 12 Mar 1907 in Portville, Cattaraugus Co., NY. Duane
died 19 Feb 1954 in Farmers Valley, McKean Co., PA, and is buried at
Fairmount/Fairview Cemetery.
- Lowell Herbert Rice was born 11 Mar 1878 in
Coryville, McKean Co., PA. He died 3 Jul 1923 in Bradford, McKean Co.,
PA and is buried in Fairmount/Fairview Cemetery.
