Jacob Frantz and other Frantz MenSubmitted by Lola L. Allen, great granddaughter of Israel S. Frantz. Photographs from the collection of Glenda Good Calkins, great granddaughter of Jacob and Hannah Houser Frantz Jacob Frantz owned and operated the Rossmoyne Flouring Mills in Rossmoyne, PA. Later, the Mill was operated by his sons. There's a lengthy history of the Frantz family in the book Indiana County, Pennsylvania, Her People Past and Present, Embracing a History of the County, Volume II, p. 1081-1084. Jacob Frantz is believed to be the gentleman seated in the middle of the front row. The gentleman standing behind Jacob Frantz could be Israel S. Frantz, Jacob's older brother. Israel S. Frantz lived in Henderson Township, Jefferson Co., PA until circa 1880. The other men are probably related to Jacob Frantz. Photo from a tintype probably taken around 1880-1900. Click on any of the men to enlarge that portion of the photograph. Do you recognize anyone? Please let Lola know, so we can add their names to this page.
