James and Martha Hilliard Hunter

Cathy Hunter Beach is a great granddaughter of James and Martha Hillard Hunter.
James Hunter, was born Apr 15 1841 in Forest County
PA, to Samuel and Ellenor Johnson Hunter. He died
Nov 3 1923, Hickory Township, Forest County, PA.
Martha Hillard-Hunter, was born in Hilliard
Station, Butler County PA, Sept19 1844, to
John Hilliard and Hannah Pettigrew Hillard. She died April 25 1928, Forest
County, PA.
James Hunter was one of the first volunteers to enlist
in Company G, 83rd Pennsylvania
Volunteer Infantry, during the Civil War. He was shot in left shoulder at
the 2nd Battle of Bull Run, but remained in service in veteran reserve corp.
