Joseph was the son of John Carrara, b. 1878 in Brescia, Italy d. 1942 in Hallston, Butler County, PA, and Thressa Angerman, b. 1883 in Jelico, Tennessee, d. 1964 in Pontiac, Michigan. Jane and Joseph lived in Branchton for many years, where Joseph was a track foreman for the Bessemer Railroad.
