John B. Embrey

John B. Embrey was born Feb 1, 1835 in
Rappohanack,
VA, the son of Robert Embrey and Sarah Grigsby.
He was one of six children. View descendents of
Robert Embrey.
John B. Embrey married Lucinda
Mills Dec 17, 1865. She was born abt April 1, 1847 in Perry Co., OH,
and died May 1, 1932 in Glouster, Athens Co., OH. Children
of John Embrey and Lucinda Mills
John served as a private in Co. G , 49th VA Infantry. He was enlisted April 1,
1862 at Rapidanock in Co I by Col E. Murry for 3 years. He was present through
June 30, 1862 as a member of 3 Co G, wounded July 3, 1863 at Gettysburg. Absent
wounded, January 26, 1864. On register Army of the Potomac, 6 Corps Provost
Marshall as Rebel deserter, released on an oath of allegiance March 19,
1864. Source of military information.
John B. Embrey died March 17, 1916 in Glouster, Athens Co., OH.
