John Henry Dennis, 1862-1950, son of Phillip
and Mary Hauger Dennis, with his wife Dora
Belle Fike Dennis, 1884-1961.
John Henry lost his first wife, Laura
Teets, and six children to the "black fever" (typhoid) about
1887 to 1889. Although Dora Bell Fike was 22
his junior, they raised six children into adulthood, and were married for 50
years.
