Martha Smith Martha Smith was from Reynoldsville, PA. She graduated from Clarion State Normal School (later called Clarion State Teachers College) in 1923. She later lived in Pittsburgh. The Sequelle, 1923, Clarion State Normal School Yearbook had this to say about Martha: "'Marty' is a girl we will never forget. With few cares or troubles to bother her she has a ready smile and cheery word for everyone. Her favorite saying is, 'I've sworn off candy.'"
