New Bethlehem High School Football Team 1929 Submitted by Margaret Fox Schroeder The Article reads: FORTY YEARS AGO, New Bethlehem High School was represented by a football team that was on the threshold of achieving a mark never matched in gridiron history locally. From this 1929 team came the nucleus of the 1930 squad that was unbeaten and unscored upon in ten games. Pictured left to right, front, are: Junior Shoemaker, Albert Fowkes, Andy Cherico, Max Mowery, Pete Slagle, Gerald Horne, Joe Hager, Wayne Wyant and Glenn Shoemaker.
