Patrick O'Keane/Kane Submitted by SLC, great great granddaughter of Patrick O'Keane/Kane, great granddaughter of Mary Ann O'Kane Patrick O'Keane/Kane was a tailor in Rochester, PA, in the late 1870s-1880s. His shop was located next door to the First National Bank Building on Brighton Street. Patrick's father, Michael Kane had also been a Master Tailor. Patrick was born in Mylerstown County Kildare, Ireland, in Jul 1839, son of Michael Kane and Bridget Duggan. He was the oldest of nine children, six of whom emigrated to the United States by 1871. Patrick located to Lawrence, MA, in the mid 1860s, where he married
Maria
Stakem on 14 Nov 1868. Maria, daughter of Denis
Stacom and Bridget Starkey, was also from County Kildare. Patrick and Maria became the parents of five living children. The
oldest was Mary Ann O'Keane/ O'Kane. Her
brothers were William, John and Frank, and
her little sister was Margaret. After
the death of Maria Stakem O'Keane/Kane 3 May 1880, the children were place in
