St. Emerich's Roman Catholic ChurchSt. Emerich's Roman Catholic Church, 600 Chestnut St., Johnstown, Cambria County, PA. St. Emerich's parish was established in 1905 by members of the Hungarian community and was originally called St. Ladislaus, with Father Stephen Chernitsky as the head. A small frame building on Power Street initially served the congregation, which acquired land for the present church sometime before 1911.
