Wilda Belle Mortland Submitted by Jennifer McGuire Wilda Belle Mortland, daughter of Newton and Margaret Mortland, was born February 21, 1888 in Marion Township, Butler County and died October 26, 1970 in Grove City, Mercer County, PA. She is photographed here as a young child in her parent's yard in Marion Township, Butler County. On January 13, 1903 in Butler County, Wilda Belle married Harry Martin Surrena (1886-1961), son of Cyrus J. and Barbara Jane Hovis Surrena. Together, Harry and Wilda Belle had ten children: Mae Belle, Myrtle Edna, Marie Jane, Martin Newton, Bert Jefferson, Daniel Edward, Earl Frances, Claude Eugene, Paul Richard, and Merle Otto.
