William James Bond with daughter Ruth Bond Submitted by Sue Slifko Gillfillan, great granddaughter of William James Bond, born 10 Aug 1890 to Henry J. Bond and Elizabeth A. Mellon. William is holding his daughter, Ruth, born in 1912. 'Ruthie' subsequently died in 1918 during the influenza epidemic. William married Marie Reeg on 11 Sept 1910 and they became the parents of: Mildred Mae, born 1911 married George W. Thompson, Ruth, born 1912; and Lillian, born 1916 married Frank Carothers. The family resided in Millvale in Pittsburgh. William James Bond was a streetcar conductor and later an electrician. He died accidentally on 21 Sept 1921and is buried in the Allegheny Cemetery.
