Wilma Arner Mortland Wilma Jane Arner was from Clarion, PA. She attended Clarion High School and graduated from Clarion State Normal School (later called Clarion State Teachers College) in 1923. She later married James Robert Mortland and lived in Portsmouth, OH. She was captain of the Varsity Basketball Team at Clarion State. Wilma was born 15 Dec 1903, the daughter of Jacob Emery Arner (born 10 Jun 1866, died 2 Dec 1934 in Clarion County), and Effie May Dixon (daughter of James A.
