Kitch, great great grandson
Catherine Mercer was the daughter of William
Mercer and Jane Moore of Mercer County. She married Samuel
Young in 1838, the son of William Young and
Mary Robinson, born in 1807 in Mercer County, PA.

Catherine and Samuel became the parents four children: Joshua,
William Calvin, James Moore and John Alfred Young.
In the 1840s he moved his family to Allegheny Township of Venango County,
then moved to Crawford County in 1864. He purchased three farms in Crawford
County for his family, his farm was on Inlet Road north of Harmonsburg, on in
South Shenango Township and a third near Linesville.
