Abt 1844, he married Anna Catharine Gilfert in Clarion Co., PA.  She was born 11 Dec 1814 in Germany, and died 9 Mar 1890 in Washington, Clarion Co., PA.

Caroline Near, born 10 Feb 1845 in Washington, Clarion Co., PA, died 28 Apr 1924 in Washington, Clarion Co., PA.  She married Robert Anderson abt 1870.
