John Joseph Franze

John Joseph Franze was born 16 May 1925 in Ellwood City, Lawrence County, PA.

He was a Seaman First Class for the U S Navy Reserve and saw Active Duty during World War II.  Herved aboard the submarine USS Lagarto and was lost and presumed dead during enemy action in the Gulf of Siam, 24 May 1945.

John Joseph Franze received the purple heart posthumously.  His grave marker is at St. Agatha Cemetery in Ellwood City, PA.
