John Martin Yagersky and his daughter,
Anna Margeurite Yagersky.
John Martin Yagersky, born in Detva, Slovakia,
in 1882, to Jan Martin and Katarina Badinka Jagersky.
Born Jan Martin Jagersky, he Anglicized his
name to John Martin Yagersky shortly after coming
to the USA.
He married the former Justina Stanislav in 1911
and with her had the following children: Anna
(1912-1983, John (1915-1990),
Michael (1917) and Andrew (1919-1983).
He died on 31 Oct 1941 due to blood loss after an accident at Blair Strip
Steel, where he was employed. Burial was made at St. Joseph's Cemetery on 4 Nov
1941.
Anna Margeurite Yagersky was born on 10 Nov 1912
in Greensburg, Westmoreland County, Pa. The family moved to New Castle around
in the late 1920's.
Anna married John Arthur Erickson in 1942. She
died in New Castle on 26 Feb 1983 and was buried here the following day. She
had one son, John Ernest Erickson.
