Rev. John Blaisdell John W. Blaisdell was born at Gifford, N. H., 17 Mar 1837, the son of Thomas J. and Anna P. Blaisdell. He was employed by the Bradys Bend Iron Company, opened a private school in Bradys Bend, and was a member of the real estate firm of Gordon, Blaisdell & Co. in Oil City. He joined the Erie Conference of the Methodist Church in 1868, and over the next forty years he served as pastor at Salem, one year; Townville, three years; Millvillage, three years; New Castle, Second Church, three years; Sharon, two years; New Castle District, four years; Greenville, three years; Titusville, two years; Brookville, five years; Punxsutawney, one year; Mayville, four years; Brockwayville, six years; and New Bethlehem. In 1896, Syracuse University, bestowed upon him the degree of Doctor of Divinity. He married Irene Morse of Oil City, 20 Dec 1864. They were the parents of three children: Cora M. Blaisdell Wild, Prof. Thomas C. Blaisdell and Frederick W. Blaisdell. Irene Morse Blaisdell died 5 May 1906. Rev. John Blaisdell died in Mar 1911.
