William Frederick Leathers Submitted by Ethel L. Winterhalter, great granddaughter William Frederick Leathers was born near Bellefonte, Center County, PA on 25 Jul 1841 to Jacob and Suphiah Leathers. His mother died when he was three years old. A Civil War Veteran, he served in Company K, 63rd Regiment, PA Volunteers for three years. In 1884, he won the election for Register and Recorder of Lawrence County. William Frederick Leathers married Margaret Stevenson (1839-1927). He died in 1907. They are both buried in Oak Park Cemetery in Lawrence County.
