George Walter Maskrey and Sarah Ellen Pringle Maskrey

Submitted by Joy Fulgham

George Walter (G. W.) Maskrey was the son of Bartholomew and Anna Ward Maskrey who are buried in Oak Grove Cemetery in Fredonia.

His second wife, Sarah Ellen Pringle was from West Virginia.  Family stories say that she was a mail order bride.

G. W. and Sarah lived in Sandy Lake until Sarah's untimely death in 1903.  G. W. then packed up the young children and moved west to Minnesota.

Most of the Maskreys in the Mercer County area are related to Bartholomew Maskrey and his siblings; they came to Mercer County as children from Wilkswirth, Derbyshire, England in 1829.
