The McWhirter Family saying goodbye to Edward Earl McWhirter who was leaving to serve in World War l Submitted by Amy McWhirter Hutton Edward Earl McWhirter was born 17 Oct 1890. He worked as a butcher's helper in Pittsburg, where he met and married Georgina Anderson. He served in World War l and was stationed in Mexico. He graduated from the Universal Chiropractic College in Pittsburgh, but was never able to open a practice, due to the stock market crash. He worked at the Westinghouse Electric Research and Development Center. In his spare time, he made things out of wood in his workshop. Edward Earl McWhirter died 18 Aug 1954 in Pittsburg.
