Schmeltzer Wedding

Taken on 14 Jan 1876, probably in East Brady, Clarion County, PA.

Charles [Karl?] Schmeltzer, coal miner, born Dec 1837 possibly in Obernberg, Kreis Linz, Austria [near Braunau/Inn], son of Anna Schmeltzer and unknown father.   Charles Schmeltzer died 25 July 1917 in New Vernon.

His wife, Mary Kauffman Schmeltzer was born 27 May 1848, probably in Blairsville, Indiana County, PA, the fifth child of Elias Kauffman and Catherina Gruber Kaufmann.  She died in Oct 1928.

Charles and Mary Kauffman Schmeltzer were the parents of 13 children, 9 boys and 4 girls.  They farmed in New Vernon from abt 1876 to abt 1917.
