Chuck and the LadiesSubmitted by Teresa Hughes Charles Francis "Chuck" Hughes along with three ladies we hope you can identify. These could be two grandmothers or a grandmother and an aunt along with a cousin. Get a close look at each of the ladies by clicking on them. The photo was taken in Sharon in 1924. However, some folks said it could have been taken in Warren, OH. Charles Francis "Chuck" Hughes was born 16 Nov 1920 to Frank and Mary Clark Hughes. He never had a birth certificate. Frank Hughes worked at the American Tin Plant in Sharon in the 1920s. The family lived in Wheatland, Sharon and Farrell. Chuck attended school in each of the boroughs. By the late 1920s, Frank had left the family. In 1933, Mary Clark Hughes died. Chuck was sent to the boys home in West Springfield, Erie County, PA, to live, and connections were lost with the rest of the family. Chuck is now the head of four generations - -proud and strong - - but with no real roots. Take a close look at the photo and of this photo of Frank and Mary Clark Hughes and see if you can help Chuck find his folks.
