Franklin High School Girls basketball team of 1935. Franklin High School was
located in Franklin Township, now Borough of Murrysville, Westmoreland county,
PA.
Evelyn Ruth Harris (1919-1977), is second from
the right. Possibly another one of the individuals is Betty
Snyder, whose family owned Snyder's grocery store in Murrysville, PA.
Evelyn was born in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County,
PA, the daughter of Evan and Carrie Morgan Harris
and lived her early years on the Pittsburgh South Side. Her mother, Carrie
was widowed in 1922 and she re-married and moved with Evelyn to Plum
Township, Allegheny County, PA in the late 1930's.
Evelyn married James Zimmerman, also of Plum
Township, in 1938. They lived in Murrysville in the early years of their
marriage.
