John Rinehart Kline, Sr.

John Rinehart Kline, Sr. (1826-1908), served in
the Union Army of the Civil War. In the photograph, he is wearing his Civil War
Medal on his suit. He was born at Wellsburg, Brooke Co., VA, now WV. The
son of Johann Friedrich Kleinhenn of Wette,
Biednenkopf, Germany (1794- 1870) and Margaret Metz
(1800-1884). John died in Dayton, Ohio at the Soldiers Home.
John married Nancy Ella Richardson (1826-1870),
daughter of William Richardson and Margaret Wright
of Washington Co., Pa. John and Nancy lived at Eldersville, Washington Co., Pa.
They were the parents of:

- Edmund Jason Kline b. 1854
- Winfield Kline b. after 1856
- John Rinehart Kline Jr. b. 13 Sept 1856 in
Elderville, Washington Co., Pa.
