William R. Saggesser

William R. Saggesser, born abt 1845 in Pennsylvania. Civil War veteran, recruited out of Clarion County, Pa and assigned to 62nd Pa Vol Infantry Company E "Rimersburg Raiders" on July 4, 1861. Discharged from the military in 1865 in Pittsburg, Pa at age 19.

Married Clarissa Elizabeth Downs in Titusville, Pa on Oct 10, 1869. 3 Children from the marriage, Melissa, Carrie May and Bertha Lavina.

Last know residence was Bennett St., Bradford, Pa, McKean County, PA.

William died Feb 19, 1892 in Bradford, Pa.

Doctor's report stated that William died from heart and lung complications from exposure during the war.

Burial was reported to be at the Oak Hill Cemetery, Bradford, Pa, however no burial records have been located.
