Heber McDowell, Sr.

Heber McDowell, Sr. was born on October 29, 1855 in Pittsburgh, Pa. He died November 27, 1929 in Pittsburgh, Pa. He is buried at Highwood Cemetery on Brighton Road, Pittsburgh, Pa. He was the son of William McDowell and Margaret Chambers. He married Mary "Minnie" Agnes Welsh born 1860 and died 1950.

He served as coroner of Allegheny County, and was very influential in the erecting of the current Allegheny County morgue. He was a very respected citizen of Pittsburgh. He was elected coroner January 7, 1907 at the age of 50.
