William and Mary Ann Potter Terwilliger, Lewis studio, Clarion, PA. Parents
of Orin Burton Terwilliger.
William P. Terwilliger, son of Solomon and Phoebe Ann Kinyon Terwilliger, was
born 18 Feb 1838 in Clarion Twp, Armstrong Co, PA. He died 13 Jun 1912 in
Millcreek Twp, Clarion Co, PA and was buried 15 Jun 1912 in Methodist Cemetery,
Fisher, Clarion Co, PA.
William married Mary Ann Potter, daughter of Henry Potter and Eva, on 15 Aug
1862 in Fisher, Clarion Co, PA. Mary was born 24 Sep 1841 in Clarion Co, PA. She
died 19 Apr 1914 in Millcreek Twp, Clarion Co, PA and was buried 22 Apr 1914 in
Methodist Cemetery, Fisher, Clarion Co, PA.
William was enrolled 13 Aug 1862 in Co. H, 149 PA Vols. He was captured 5 May
1864 and sent to Andersonville. He was paroled at N.E. Ferry, NC 27 Feb
1865, sent to Camp Distribution, VA 3 May 1865. Discharged 27 June 1865 at
Elmira, NY. He was a member of the National Association of Ex-Union
Prisoners of War and the Andersonville Survivors' Association. He was a farmer,
and lived in Millcreek Township, Clarion Co, PA. He and Mary had these children:
Lawrence Grant, Orin Burton, William Taylor, Harry Willis, Kathryn Mae, Eva
Belle, Bessie Irene.
