Daniel Swisher and Elizabeth Matthews Swisher

Daniel Swisher and his wife Elizabeth Matthews Swisher.

Daniel was born in Lewistown, Mifflin County PA in 1792. He moved to Frostburg, Jefferson County PA in the 1830's where he lived out the remainder of his life. He died in 1871 and was buried at the the Hopewell M. E. Church in Frostburg. Daniel was a Navy veteran of the war of 1812 and was a survivor of the battle of Lake Erie.

The photo is a daguerreotype.
