Mary Solt Gates (1840-1923) wife of David Gates
Benner G. Gates (1877-1958) 11th child of David & Mary Gates
Eliza Emeline Gates Dixon (1867- 939) 7th child of David & Mary. She was
married in 1889 to Hays Dixon (abt 1867 - abt 1928). She died in Johnstown, Pa.
David Gates was the 6th of 12 children born to Emanuel & Sophia Weitzel
Gates. He was born in Ferguson Twp in Centre Co., Pa. In 1854 he married Mary
Solt daughter of Peter & Mary Haupt Solt.
About 1861 David & Mary moved to Loveville in Half-moon Twp., Centre Co., Pa.
Both David & Mary & some of their children are buried in the Centre Line
Lutheran Cemetery.
