L. & N. Depot, Florala, Alabama

Photo from an early 1900s postcard.

Florala Depot

When my father retired from the Army, he and mother built a home on my grandparents land (Smyrna Community). During and after my father's tenure in the Army I would spend time with my mother's sister, who lived in Florala. Her husband worked at the train depot and he would take me to work with him many times. My instructions were "sit on the depot podium and do not go anywhere". Also, I would have a bottled RC,a bag of peanuts and a moon pie. I did as he said and I always enjoyed my time with my uncle and aunt.
