Babe O'Neal and Fred Grath Wedding, June 1927

Babe O'Neal and Fred Grath Wedding, June 1927

Babe O'Neal to Fred Grath in June of 1927.

The flower girl is Margaret Louise Taylor, age eight. She is the daughter of William and Rose Taylor. They lived at 925 N. Keystone in Indianapolis. Here is a fun story that goes along with the photograph: Little Margaret was afraid of the next-door neighbor, big in his police uniform. When Mr. O’Neal spied little chubby Margaret playing in the front yard as he got out of his police cruiser, he would say, “There’s Tubby—She’s just fat enough to eat!” Of course, he was just teasing, and his daughter Babe asked Margaret to be her flower girl in her June 1927 wedding to Fred Grath.

I wonder if Babe O'Neal is related to me. My maiden name is O'Neal & I have a memory of my Dad & Mom speaking of a Babe.
