Miller, John Albert Civil War 1861-1864

John Miller enlisted July 25 1861 from Clarion County in Company E 62nd Regt Penna Vol Infantry. Served many battles in many locations including Gettysburg and Seige of Parkersburg. At Gettysburg he was wounded by gunshot to the right side of face and neck. Confined to Chestnut Hill Hospital, transferred to Pittsburg. Rejoined regiment and engaged at WIne River and Wilderness and Bethesda Church and was honorable discharged July 13, 1864 at Pittsburg. A copy of the discharge citation is in my hands. His wife was Mary Jane Neiswonger. Children Della R, Clarissa, Kate A, Charles L, RObert S, Olie W, Mary E, Grace M, John A, Carrie J.
