Unknown Children



The girl's dress is classic 1890s. The elaborate wicker chair is also an 1890s characteristic. It looks like the photographer's name is incised rather than printed. If so, this would be from later in the decade, when cabinet cards with incised info, precursors to the style of photo in the next decade, start appearing. Also, I can't tell from this low quality pic, but the baby seems to have a square yoke edged with frills at the top of the dress, or maybe epaulets at the top of the sleeves. . If so, this would also indicate a date later in the decade.
