John H. Rimbey

John H. Rimbey

John H. Rimbey was born 9 Mar 1845 and died 30 Jan 1902. He worked for the Central Railroad of New Jersey and was "cut in twain while on duty in the Packerton yards" according to his obituary in The Lehighton Press.

He was a member of the Switchman's Union and was a Lieut. Co. G 52 PA Infantry 1863-1865 U.S. Army.

His parents are John Rimbey and Mary (last name unknown). He lived in Barnesville, PA with his mother before and after the Civil War. He moved to Mauch Chunk, now Jim Thorpe, PA, and married Angeline Koons.

John has a sister Sarah who married Elias Faust.
