Railroad Men, Brookville, PA

Railroad Men, Brookville, PA

From a collection of glass negatives taken by my grandfather Fred Ford who worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad.

I lived in Brookville as a child in the mid 1950s and spent a lot of time at my best friend's house. Her dad always came home covered in what looked like coal so I asked where he worked and he said "I work at the railroad." I wondered how he got THAT dirty at the railroad tracks which were a short distance from our houses. After finding this photo it made sense and I believe the man in the back, right side is her dad, Louis "Pete" Baker.
Thanks so much for posting it!
