The Remains of the Bruner Woolen Mill

Harold, Caroline, Martha and Norman Opitz are standing on what is left of the woolen mill Daniel Bruner built in and ran in Mill Creek Township the 1800s. Click on any of the individuals to enlarge that portion of the photograph.

From the History of Mercer County, 1877, page 480:

"The woolen mill of Daniel Bruner & Son was begun in the third week of April, 1862, and in six weeks (viz., June 14) was in running order, the timber for the structure having been cut, meantime, from the woods, and put into form for service. A dwelling house was also erected within the same period. The mill is still in operation [1877]."

Photo taken about 1924.
