Dyer Jude "D.J." Brown of Sandy Lake, PA, was born 11 Oct 1816, son of Lansing D. Brown and Speedy Walker.

Married abt 1845, to Nancy Maria Weir, second daughter of Adam Weir, early Sheakleyville innkeeper, and Mary Ann Bean.

Died 19 Apr 1894, Sandy Lake, PA.

Children: sons Henry, Stanley, Frank Brown; daughters Loretta (Mrs. Thomas F. Reagan), Eva (Mrs. James Lenigan), Elizabeth Mary (Mrs. Clarence Goddard), Katherine 'Katie' (Mrs. John Greer), Ida (married Nickum), and Louise (Mrs. Josiah Patterson).

In his youth Dyer drove a stagecoach out of Erie, PA. Settling in Sandy Lake he became an innkeeper, like his father-in-law, Adam Weir. Dyer had a younger brother Benjamin, a Mercer Co. grocer.

Dyer and Nancy are interred in Cochranton Cemetery, Crawford Co.
