Hugh Morrison

Hugh Morrison was born 10 Sept 1838 in Philadelphia. He moved with his parents to Mercer County, PA Prior to the civil war, Hugh Morrison was living in Slippery Rock, Butler County.

He was a veteran of the Civil War, serving as sergeant in Company C, 100th PA Volunteers. He enlisted on 31 Aug 1861, was promoted to Full Sergeant on 15 May 1862 and discharged due to wounds received in battle, on 27 Dec 1862. A ball passed diagonally through his head taking out one eye.

He died 4 Jan 1901 in Bellevue, Allegheny County and is buried in Butler County.
